The appointments in question were made in accordance with Articles 13e and 3e of Law No. 2547 on Higher Education and Articles 2e, 3e and 7e of the Presidential Decree.

İnci, who did post-doctoral studies in the field of optical communication at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University between 1993 and 1994, became Assistant Professor in 1994 and Associate Professor in 1996 in the Department of Physics from Boğaziçi University.

While working as a visiting scholar at Gunma University in Japan on industrial applications of fiber optic sensors between 1998-1999, İnci worked as a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Sabancı University between 1999-2005. the programs.

İnci, who was a professor in the physics department at Boğaziçi University in 2005 and chaired the department between 2014 and 2018, was visiting professor at the University of Stuttgart in Germany, Gunma University in Japan, in Norwegian Technical University and Heriot-Watt University in England.

Working and conducting research on optical fibers, nanoparticles and the physics of their applications, optical sensors, quantum optics, quantum computing, quantum cryptography, İnci holds two international patents for his contributions to the development of university relations -industry.


He completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Technical Education of the University of Marmara between 1981 and 1985.

He did his Masters at the University of Marmara, Institute of Science and Technology, Machine Education between 1985-1987. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Marmara between 1987 and 1993.
