By proxy to the Rectorate of Boğaziçi University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci has been appointed

YÖK has also started the nomination process to determine the new rector. The notice of candidacy for the post of rector has been published.

Applicants who have worked or are working as teachers will be able to apply to YÖK until the end of the working day on Monday 2 August.


teacher. Dr. Naci İnci received his undergraduate degree in physics from Marmara University in 1987 and his doctorate in fiber optic sensors from Heriot-Watt University in England in 1992. İnci, who did post-graduate studies doctoral studies in the field of optical communication at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University between 1993 and 1994, became Assistant Professor in 1994 and Associate Professor in 1996 at the Department of Physics at Boğaziçi University.

While working as a visiting scholar at Gunma University in Japan on industrial applications of fiber optic sensors between 1998-1999, İnci worked as a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Sabancı University between 1999-2005, the basic and research laboratories of the university studies and other undergraduate studies and participated in the establishment of graduate programs.

İnci, who became a professor in the physics department at Boğaziçi University in 2005 and chaired the department in 2014-2018, has been visiting professor at the University of Stuttgart in Germany, Gunma University in Japan, in Norwegian Technical University and Heriot-Watt University in England.

Working and conducting research on optical fibers, nanoparticles and the physics of their applications, optical sensors, quantum optics, quantum computing, quantum cryptography, İnci holds two international patents for his contributions to the development of university relations -industry.
