Emma Raducanu, 18, US Open champion

In the women’s singles final of the Grand Slam tournament in New York, USA, the laughing part was 18-year-old British tennis player Raducanu.

In the widely watched match, Raducanu won the first set 6-4 and the second 6-3 over Fernandez, 19, and became the US Open Tennis Tournament women’s singles champion.

Raducanu, 150th in the world rankings, became the second British tennis player to hold the title after Virginia Wade, who won the US Open Tennis Tournament in 1977.

Raducanu, the winner of the women’s singles final, took home $ 2.5 million and Fernandez, the runner-up, took home $ 1.25 million.

Serbian Novak Djokovic and Russian Daniil Medyedev will meet today in the men’s singles final of the US Open tennis.
