While walking away from the fire in the forest area of the Marmaris district in Muğla, a person who had an accident lost his life while being caught in the flames.
Air and ground interventions are continuing in order to contain the fire which broke out in the forest area at Armutalan Mahallesi Şirinyer.
The fire extinguishing work continues with the participation of 14 water tanks, 6 tankers, 4 first aid vehicles, 6 helicopters, 1 aircraft, 6 service vehicles, 5 bulldozers, 5 trailers, 11 personnel technicians, 5 forest guards and 135 firefighters.
In the fire which reached the district of İçmeler, the houses where the flames spread also intervened.
Şahin Akdemir, 25, caught in flames with his motorbike in the area, was involved in a motorbike accident while trying to leave the area. Akdemir, who was injured as a result of the vehicle overturning, was killed by being caught in the flames.
However, some hotels in the region were evacuated as a precaution.
Due to the dark weather, extinction work continues from the field. It was reported that airborne responses will continue in the morning.
THE MAYOR OF MARMARIS IS ON NTV
The mayor of Marmaris, Mehmet Oktay, gave information on the latest situation on NTV.
Oktay said that, in particular, places near settlements have been to a large extent controlled and no loss of life has been recorded so far in the blaze. On the other hand, Oktay also said that the fire was moving towards the Hisarönü region of Bodrum.

The South Aegean Tourist Hotel Association (GETOB) has placed tourists who have had to leave their hotels in other hotels.
Explaining the latest situation in the area on NTV, Merih Ak said that so far the fire has slowed as it moves away from residential areas, but the danger remains in the forest area.
