Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu discussed Afghanistan on the phone with his US counterpart Blinken

According to the Foreign Ministry, Çavuşoğlu and his American counterpart Blinken had a telephone conversation.

During the meeting, the latest developments in Afghanistan were discussed.

On the other hand, Çavuşoğlu had a phone call with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto and discussed the latest situation in Afghanistan.

THE TALIBAN PROCESS TO DOMINATE THE COUNTRY IN AFGHANISTAN

As part of the peace agreement reached between the United States and the Taliban in February 2020, the process of withdrawing international forces from Afghanistan began this year.

While the agreement stipulated that foreign forces should not be attacked, it did not stipulate the actions of the Taliban against the Afghan security forces.

Continuing negotiations with the Afghan government in Doha, the Taliban have simultaneously dominated many districts and provincial centers in Afghanistan with heavy attacks since June.

Besieging the capital Kabul, the Taliban took control of the city without conflict after President Ashraf Ghani left the country on August 15.
