Indian Premier League 2021: tournament to resume in United Arab Emirates in September

Indian Premier League has been postponed from 29 games in the 60-game tournament

The remainder of the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) season will take place in the United Arab Emirates in September and October.

The Twenty20 tournament was suspended on May 4 after several positive coronavirus tests among players.

It was removed from India because it is the monsoon season in the country at this time.

The Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) said it was a unanimous decision to take over IPL.

There are 31 games left to play and the reorganization of the tournament has had to cope with a busy international cricket schedule.

England completed a five-test series against India on September 14 and are expected to travel to Bangladesh and Pakistan ahead of the T20 World Cup in India in October.

The BCCI has asked the ICC for an extension of time to decide on the organization of the World Cup.
