The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the industrial production index data for July 2021.
As a result, calendar-adjusted industrial production rose 8.7% in July compared to the same month a year earlier.
When the industry sub-sectors are analyzed, the mining and quarrying sector index increased by 15.2%, the manufacturing industry index increased by 7.9% and the index production and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning increased by 11.7%. in July compared to the same month of the previous year.
The unadjusted industrial production index also fell 2.3 percent on an annual basis.
MONTHLY INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION DATA
Seasonally and calendar-adjusted industrial production fell 4.2 percent in July compared with June.
When the industry sub-sectors are analyzed, the mining and quarrying sector index decreased by 1.8 percent and the manufacturing industry sector index by 5 percent compared to the previous month, while the production and distribution sector of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning the index increased by 4.5 percent.
Economists participating in AA Finans’ Industrial Production Expectations Survey expected the calendar-adjusted industrial production index to rise 16.9% in July from the same time of year former.
The unadjusted industrial production index was forecast to increase by 14.2 percent on an annual basis during the July period.
