UEFA, the Union of European Football Associations, has announced that the long-discussed away goals rule has been abolished.
It has been reported that the away goals rule will not be used in UEFA organizations from the 2021/2022 season.
According to the declaration made by UEFA, the rule based on the jump in the turn of the team which scores the most away goals will be changed in matches played in two matches in which the teams have scored an equal number of goals.
From now on, two 15-minute overtime will be played, as in the single-match elimination system. If the tie is not broken in extra time, the penalty shoot-out will be initiated.
