The Foreign Ministry issued a statement regarding the attack on a school in Russia today.

The ministry said: “It has been learned with regret that many students and teachers have lost their lives and been injured in an armed attack on a school in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.” We offer our sincere condolences to the people of the Republic of Tatarstan.


It was reported that two people attacked the school in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Autonomous Republic of Tatarstan. Thirteen people were reportedly killed and four injured in the incident.

The RIA news agency said one of the deceased was a teacher and six students.

It was reported that one of the perpetrators was a 17-year-old teenager and had been detained.

It is reported that the other attacker was shot and neutralized.
