The new Iranian president has been announced.

Conservative candidate İbrahim Reisi, head of the judiciary, won the 13th presidential elections and became the country’s 8th president, according to unofficial results.

The reformist candidate, the former governor of the Central Bank Abdunnasır Himmeti, the conservative candidates, the former commander-in-chief of the army of the Revolutionary Guards and general secretary of the Council for the diagnosis of the benefit of the order Muhsin Rızai and Deputy Emir Hüseyin Kadızade Haşimi congratulated the leader on their statements.

President Hasan Rouhani also said in his statement that the popular president is determined and will hand over the task to him after 45 days.

Iran’s new presidential leader is cited as the likely successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

An uncompromising judge, he was one of four judges to have signed the death warrant against thousands of opponents of the regime in the 1980s.

He is recognized as the name behind the mass execution of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization in 1988.

Reisi, who attracts public attention with his economic promises and his promises to fight corruption, defends the economy of resistance.

Its leader lost the 2017 elections, in which he ran against Hassan Rouhani.
