The Union of European Football Federations (UEFA) has announced its decision on the final match between British teams Manchester City and Chelsea scheduled for May 29 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
UEFA reported that the final match was played at the Portuguese city of Porto due to measures against the corona virus.
“We are grateful for the continued partnership and spirit of cooperation of the Turkish football authorities, as well as for their understanding of this particular situation,” UEFA’s official speech said on Twitter. “We will urgently study future opportunities for the city of Istanbul.”
British media SkySports recently wrote that the UEFA Champions League final, which will be played on May 29, was taken from Istanbul.
SkySports wrote that the announcement of the match to be played in Dragao, Portugal will be made by UEFA within 24 hours.
After Britain put Turkey on the travel red list, Brits who were on their way to the game had to be quarantined for 10 days upon returning to their country.
