The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the workforce statistics for the period of July 2021.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 12.0%
The number of unemployed people aged 15 and over in Turkey increased by 506,000 people in July 2021 compared to the previous month and reached 3 million 902,000 people. The unemployment rate, on the other hand, rose 1.4 percentage points to 12.0%.
The seasonally adjusted employment rate was 45.1%
The number of employed people increased by 125 thousand in July 2021 compared to the previous month and became 28 million 730 thousand people, while the employment rate increased by 0.2 point to 45.1%.
The seasonally adjusted labor force participation rate was 51.2%
In July 2021, the workforce increased by 631 thousand people compared to the previous month and became 32 million 632 thousand people, while the activity rate increased by 0.9 points to 51.2%.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate among the youth population was 23.1% and the employment rate was 31.3%.
The unemployment rate for young people aged 15 to 24 was unchanged at 23.1% from the previous month, while the employment rate fell 0.3 points to 31.3%. The participation rate of this age group, on the other hand, fell by 0.4 percentage point compared to the previous month to stand at 40.7%.
The unemployment rate was 12.1%, the employment rate was 45.8%
The unemployment rate fell 2.5 percentage points from the same month a year earlier and stood at 12.1%. The number of unemployed decreased by 585 thousand people compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 4 million 3 thousand people.
The employment rate increased by 2.8 points compared to the same month a year earlier and stood at 45.8%. The number of employed increased by 2 million 266 000 people and reached 29 million 206 000 people.
