According to the statement made by the Communications Directorate of the Presidency, measures to improve Turkey-EU relations and regional issues were discussed during the meeting.

President Erdoğan said that Turkey has done its part more than once and that it is the EU’s turn to take concrete action, and that the time has already come to implement a positive agenda with the Turkey.

Stressing the need to start negotiations on updating the customs union as soon as possible and without preconditions, President Erdoğan expressed his wish to initiate high-level dialogue meetings, especially in the areas of cooperation on public health, climate change and home affairs, migration and the fight against terrorism.

President Erdoğan said visa liberalization is a step that the Turkish people have long awaited and the March 18 agreement must be implemented with all its elements and strengthened.
