National amputee football team reach European Championship final

The national amputee football team beat Russia 5-2 in the European Championship semifinals to advance to the final.

At the European Amputee Football Championship in Krakow, Poland, the national team faced Russia in the semi-finals.

Russia took a 1-0 lead with a goal scored by Igor Gamaonov in the 14th minute of the game. Balancing the game with Kemal Güleş in the 21st minute, the national side took the lead 2-1 thanks to Rahmi Özcan’s goal in the 24th minute. Russia scored another goal with Dmitrii Udalov at 25 + 2 and the first half ended in a 2-2 draw.

Starting the second half quickly, the Crescent Star team took a 3-2 lead thanks to Rahmi Özcan’s free kick in the 32nd minute. With an own goal from Valerii Sadavskii in the 42nd minute in Russia, Turkey extended their lead to 2: 4-2.
