Nihat Türkmenoğlu won the silver medal in the W1 male archer category in archery at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
In archery competitions held at Yumenoshima Park, Nihat faced Czech athlete David Drahoninsky, Olympic and world record holder, in the final.
Nihat, who was behind 116-114 in the final set, took a 124-123 lead in the first of the last shots. Nihat, who scored 9 and 10 points in his next two shots, responded with 8 and 9 points to the Czech athlete, narrowly missing the gold medal, losing the match 142-141 and staying on the medal of money.
Czech athlete David Drahoninsky also tied his own Paralympic Games record with a throw of 142 points.
Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu also followed the match.
