President Erdoğan: We are determined to keep our schools open

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the 2021 Teacher Appointment Ceremony at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul.

The titles of Erdogan’s statements are as follows:

“The number of teachers working in our schools will reach 1 million 137,000 with the teachers who will be appointed soon. We have made great improvements in the personal rights of our teachers. Turkey is the country which has improved the salaries of teachers the most. teachers in the last 20 years in Europe. Turkey is the country with the fewest number of compulsory teaching hours for teachers in Europe. We have made Turkey a country which has largely eliminated infrastructure deficiencies in education, as in all fields.

We see our skilled workforce with all kinds of knowledge and skills required by the times as the engine of our economy, our society and our democracy. Our children have not been to school for a year and a half. The epidemic still continues, but we no longer have the luxury of leaving our children away from their schools. We are determined to keep our schools open and to give our children the best education with their peers. By taking all the necessary precautions, we are reuniting our children with their schools from Monday. Hopefully we will end the school year by keeping our schools open full time. The point on which we must now focus is improving the quality of education. For this we need to improve the content of education, especially the curriculum.
