The Istanbul governor’s office announced that the ban on entering the forests has been extended until September 30.
In the governor’s statement, it was stated that some decisions have been taken to protect the forests, which are the national wealth, and the following were noted:
“With the requests of the Regional Directorate of Forests dated August 31, 2021, considering that forest fires could occur in our province in the coming days, in order to protect our forests, which is our national wealth, through our Governorate; provisions of the numbered decision 2021/2, the ban on entry into forest areas within the borders of our province has been extended until Thursday 30.09.2021 at midnight. We thank our esteemed citizens of Istanbul for their sensitivity so far and wish their continued support to protect our forest areas from all kinds of dangers. “
In the press release, it is specified that the entrance to the forests has been extended until September 30, with the exception of those assigned to feeding stray animals by the Regional Directorate of National Parks and authorized public officials: “It is forbidden to take a break, picnic, barbecue, samovar, etc. in the forests of our province and on the paths in the forest. It is allowed to picnic in authorized parks, picnic and recreation areas and natural parks under its control, but it is prohibited to light barbecue fires, use picnic tubes, etc. it has been said.
