The industrial production index rose 0.7% in March

The industrial production index rose 0.7 percent on a monthly basis and 16.6 percent on an annual basis in March.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the results of the industrial production index for the month of March.

As a result, calendar-adjusted industrial production rose 16.6 percent in March from the same month a year earlier. The unadjusted index of industrial production also increased 19.9 percent on an annual basis.

When the industry sub-sectors are examined, the mining and quarrying sector index increased by 14.8%, the manufacturing industry index by 17.2% and the index of the production and distribution sector of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning increased by 11.9% in March compared to the same month of the previous year.

MONTHLY DATA IN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION

Seasonally adjusted and calendar-adjusted industrial production rose 0.7 percent in March from February.

When the industry sub-sectors are examined, in March, the mining and quarrying sector index fell 1.7% from the previous month, while the manufacturing industry index fell 1.7% from the previous month. rose 0.3% and the index for electricity, gas, steam generation and distribution and air conditioning industry rose 7.3%.

Calendar-adjusted industrial production rose 12.3 percent in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. Seasonally adjusted and calendar adjusted industrial production increased 2.6 percent from the previous quarter.

Economists participating in the AA Financial Industry Production Expectations Survey expected the calendar-adjusted industrial production index to rise 13.8 percent in March from the same period of the previous year. During the March period, an annual increase of 16.15 percent was projected in the unadjusted industrial production index.
