The Home Office announced that 1,054 school law enforcement officers, 22,000,772 security education coordination officers, 19,000,569 law enforcement officers and 10,000 law enforcement officers Private security will be responsible for the security of schools during the new teaching period.

According to the ministry statement, security measures have been stepped up to ensure that students travel to schools safely during the 2021-2022 school year.

In this context, the school police officer, who works in schools deemed to have priority following assessments made by the police services, will be in constant communication with the school administration.

The secure pedagogical coordinator, who will intervene permanently in the schools, will intervene in the visible and dominant points around the school and in the places of concentration of the pupils before the school entry and exit times. In addition, patrol team personnel and private security guards will be on the ground.

During the new period, there will be 1,054 law enforcement officers in schools, 22,000,772 security education coordination officers and 19,000,569 law enforcement officers across 6 000,523 patrol teams.

Under the “Community Benefit Program” implemented by the General Directorate of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, 10,000 private security officers will ensure school safety.


The Ministry of the Interior has transmitted to the governorates the instruction which determines the duties and responsibilities of the school police officer, the security education coordination officer and the patrol teams that will participate in the entry and the school gate.

Thus, the school security forces who will be on duty during the teaching period will be present in the schools assigned to them half an hour before the students’ entry time and will never leave their places of service during the teaching period. work hours.

Those responsible, who will be in permanent contact with the school administration, will take the necessary measures in terms of safety and circulation, in particular the school entry and exit times.

These officials, who will prevent the sale and use of drugs and stimulants in schools, will take action against those who sell, transport and possess materials such as cutters, piercings and explosives that can be used for any purpose. criminals in front of the school and its immediate surroundings. surroundings.


On the other hand, the patrol teams, who will be on call during the school entry and exit times, will check people who are not related to the school or who are perceived as suspicious, in front of and around the school. from school. , and if necessary, they will remove these people from the school environment by applying legal and administrative procedures.

These officials, who will liaise and coordinate with city police to ban hawkers and those who sell illegal food and drink, thereby disrupting the safe educational environment around the school, will take action against workplaces that sell cigarettes and alcoholic beverages to students. around the school.

These officials will also work in coordination with teams from the Traffic Department to inspect school service vehicles.

Those responsible for the coordination of safety education will also meet and exchange information on an ongoing basis with the administrators of the schools for which they are responsible, the guidance teachers in charge and the parents of the parents-teachers union.


The operability of security cameras installed in schools, especially those with priority diplomas, will be verified and their integration into the city’s security management system (KGYS) will be completed. In order to ensure the effective environmental security of the schools where the security camera system is installed and to record the events, the images will be viewed mainly by the school principals.

Measures regarding the abandoned buildings around the school will be reviewed and abandoned buildings that have been completed will be demolished.

Places such as internet cafes / playrooms around the school will be inspected regularly. It will be verified whether the obligations determined by the “Law on the regulation of Internet broadcasts and the fight against crimes committed through such broadcasts” and the “Regulation on providers of collective use of the Internet” and rules to be followed in these workplaces are observed. regarding heavy internet use providers.

All kinds of preventive measures will be taken, including the prevention of uncovered cigarette sales, particularly in the fight against drugs / stimulants in schools and places where students are present.


Thanks to the “Cooperation protocol for securing the school and its environment”, implemented by the Ministries of National Education, the Interior and the Family and Social Services since 2018, in order to secure the school and its environment, a decrease in incidents in the school and its surroundings.
